One of the scariest things ever: following your dreams
How true is this?
People every day give up on their dreams because they are too scary or because they are afraid of failing.
People every day give up on their dreams because it’s going to take too much time or work.
People every day give up on their dreams because they feel like they need a backup-plan in case they fail at their dream….and then get stuck working at a job they HATE.
But guess what? If there is something that is always on your mind, something that you can’t go a day without thinking about…it’s probably that gift that God gave you. It’s probably what YOU WERE CREATED FOR. Have you ever thought about that?
I’m going to be honest….the world can be a cruel place.
People will tell you that you can’t do something.
People will tell you that you will never make it.
People will tell you that you don’t have what it takes.
But what does God say?
He says, “If I am for you who can be against you?”
Let that sink in for a second.
If God is for us and HE NEVER FAILS, that means WE WILL NOT FAIL. Don’ t get me wrong now, we will have our ups and downs, we may not always succeed on the first try, and we will fall sometimes it’s almost guaranteed…but what defines us isn’t how many times we fall…it’s how well we rise after falling.
If you ever find yourself afraid to follow your dreams because you’re afraid of failing or losing simply say, “Not today Satan,” and push that negative thought aside. Because honestly you never really lose, you either win, or you learn.
If you ever find yourself feeling like you’re settling in life because you’re not doing what makes you happy then get up and go follow your dreams. If you want to be successful in this world you really have to follow your passion and not your paycheck. I don’t care how much money you make……you will not be happy going to a job you hate every single day.
If you ever feel like following your dream is too much work….realize this….following your dreams and passions does take work. Nothing in this world worth having comes easy, and nothing just falls easily in our laps. Dreams don’t work unless you do.
Question: Have your dreams ever been so big that you’re uncomfortable even telling people about them?
That’s me all the way.
I stopped telling people what I wanted to be when I grew up in middle school and high school because I was tired of people telling me what they thought, or telling me I’m “too this” or I’m “too that”…..
Small minded people will seriously try convince you that your dreams are too big. But don’t listen to them. Turn your dream into a plan and simply chase it.
