I get it. It’s summer, and let’s face it, your brain is basically mush, it’s on vacation mode. Whether you work or not! Life is exhausting. This summer I’m struggling a lot with self-image, YES, a lot! I’m not sure why, but I don’t feel as confident as I want to be and I’ve been a big “Compare Monster”

I’ve been doing some really cool stuff, and I’m proud of what I’m doing but every day comes to an end, and I’m left doubting myself, wanting more, thinking negatively, and dwelling on the past.

I know I’m not alone. You think you aren’t good enough, you want to be where that girl on instagram is at, you want to be as successful as that girl who’s.. what?? younger than you? I totally get it! Comparing SUCKS. It feeds off of strong women and it gets in your head and makes you think down on yourself.

If you’re in the same boat, this is the post for you!!

Step 1: SPUNK- Appreciate how special you are.

Yes you heard me, spunk!

We’ve all got spunk, we are amazing, wonderful, kick-a**, spunky people! You are unique and the bee’s knees! You just need to believe you are!

It’s JUST as easy to believe we’re awesome, as it is to believe you suck.… think about it…

Step 2: Be Selfish

what? Why would I say that? BECAUSE. be selfish! compliment the crap out of yourself! find your insecurities and beat them up with affirmations!

Affirmation-the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed.

“I’m hot”

“Wow I look great today”

“My wardrobe is amazing, like I could model seriously”

Be. Selfish.

You deserve affirmation, and guess what? It does NOT need to be from other people. If you know you’re gorgeous, then you are gorgeous! Who cares what anyone else thinks?

“Comparison is the fastest way to take all the fun out of life.” -Jen Sincero

It’s true, comparing yourself even once can ruin your WHOLE DAY. So stop!!

It’s non of your business what other people are doing anyway, so stop making yourself wish you were someone else, all that matters is you are happy with yourself and what you are accomplishing in your OWN life.

Here’s the last one.. and it’s big.. ready?

Step 4: Forgive yourself

I am dead serious. I don’t care what you did, what you said, what happened. It happened. period. It’s done. And you need to forgive yourself. It is okay.

Guilt and shame is one of the worst, awful, terrible, destructive things on a human being.

So do me a favor and forgive yourself, you are not a bad person, you are so amazing and have beautiful potential that will only blossom, but you can’t succeed unless you are your number one cheerleader okay?

you aren’t a better person for feeling guilty, you’re just sadder.

SO with that being said, what I started doing this summer is writing! I bought a bunch of journals, stickers, planners, pens, you name it. I’m writing literally everything. From quotes, highlighting things in the books i’m reading, verses, food log, sleep log, seriously EVERYTHING. I suggest you do the same! It’s a great hobby to start! Plus be sure to check out my two new favorite books photographed on the top of the blog for any boss-ladies and powerful chickas out there! You will LOVE them!

I’m killin’ it.”
